Introducing Mammoth Master Class

An immersive 3-session experience for residents of Barren, Edmonson, and Hart Counties to explore the story, science, and significance of Mammoth Cave National Park.

Mammoth Master Class is an enlightening deep dive into Mammoth Cave National Park through an extensive behind-the-scenes tour that happens over 3 sessions. The purpose of this class is to provide community members of the 3 counties (Barren County, Hart County, and Edmonson County) on which the park sits with a stronger understanding of the economic, environmental, and cultural anchor that Mammoth Cave National Park is to its gateway communities. Graduates return to their communities with increased skills, knowledge, and perspective of Mammoth Cave National Park. Program graduates are better prepared to be catalysts in their communities and organizations in an effort to spread the value of Mammoth Cave National Park

Who should apply?

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  1. Live in Barren, Edmonson, or Hart Counties
  2. Or work in one of the three counties

Ideal applicants are community-minded, curious, and eager to learn more about the hidden depths (literal and metaphorical!) of Mammoth Cave.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are non-stop with looks into historical, geological, environmental, and operational aspects of Kentucky’s only National Park! They include site visits, cave tours, a variety of speakers connected to the National Park, as well as networking opportunities with your fellow class members.
